On the road to SteemFest 3: Visiting Stuttgart, then going to PraguesteemCreated with Sketch.

On Friday night, my brother Philippe and myself we arrived in Stuttgart, Germany.
After checking at the hotel and putting my car in a parking garage, we went to a sushi place for dinner, before going to bed.

We are not this kind of tourists that know beforehand what they want to visit and that run around taking many pictures. We just like to discover the place walking around.

The hotel where we stayed was at one end of Königstraße (King Street) that "claims to be the longest pedestrianized street in Germany" (Wikipedia).
So, after breakfast, we walked on this pedestrian street from one end to the other.

At some point we arrived at Stuttgart main place: Schlossplatz (Castle Square).

On this picture you can see the Neues Schloss (New Palace). The column in the middle of the square was erected on the occasion of the 25 anniversary of the ascension on the throne of king William I of Württemberg.

At the end of Königstraße, we arrived at Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof, the main train station.

There are major construction works near the station that are called Stuttgart 21

Stuttgart 21 is a railway and urban development project in Stuttgart, Germany. It is a part of the Stuttgart–Augsburg new and upgraded railway

Coming back, we visited the Landesmuseum Württemberg (Württemberg State Museum), where we saw display about the different people that lived in south Germany starting with Neanderthal men and including the Celts, the Romans, the Franks and the Alemanni, up to modern times.

In the courtyard, we saw these two guys who were training with long swords.

As we were traveling on Sunday, Philippe being a practicing catholic decided to go to mass Saturday night. We had found a catholic church not far from the hotel.

When we arrived for mass at around 18:00, we were a little disappointed by the decor.

Interestingly enough, the mass was in English. There were only 40 people, and the majority of them were Asians.

On Sunday morning, we left Stuttgart and went to Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic.
It took us a long time to find our hotel, as there are many small streets in Prague and we made many mistakes trying to follow the indication of the GPS.

Prague will be the last stop before going to SteemFest3 in Kraków, Poland, on Wednesday.
