'Where all that came from?'

I have prepared a little trip down the fashion history lane. A few thoughts from someone who never follows the trends but believes that the sixties were pretty interesting in many aspects. Funny because, you see, I haven't even been born back then. :D

All my experience with the sixties come from films, music and old magazines that I used to go throughout of a sheer curiosity. I noticed that it was the beginning of an era of fantasy and it pushed through everything.

The fifties were still in the deep shadow of World war II, both economically and mind-wise, while in the sixties people slowly started to breathe again and rediscover the good times in many ways, especially toward the late sixties.

It was definitely an era that gave way to imagination. Even though the beginning of the sixties was still relatively conservative, soon people started experimenting. By the second half of the decade, individuals broke loose from the claws of fashion designers and started creating unique styles that would fit their mood and personality.

Interesting to notice the line of thought in those days. Everything that happened in music, art, design, fashion had its roots in the geist of the times. Well, that is no big surprise because it always does. But, what I couldn't understand is where it came from? Sexual revolution? The beginning of non-conformity? Questioning the very concept of authority? The birth of strong individuality? Maybe all those, and more, all mixed together in a cocktail of upcoming abundance? You be the judge.

Enjoy your day! :-)

An interesting vision of the situation in the fashion world of the 50-60s. I agree with the fact that in the 50 years many people did not have a special business before fashion. There were many other problems that needed to be solved. But after a while in the 60s, fashion began to change a lot. There appeared a number of individual and defiant styles and directions. The girls began to follow the fashion trends and this marked the beginning of a new stage.

But seeing the first photo, I noticed that these dresses are similar to the fashionable style. I see many young women who prefer to wear such outfits. Although a few years ago, maybe later in the fashion were short skirts and dresses. This indicates the cyclical nature of the mode. Or speaking in plain language: "Everything new is a well-forgotten old." Fashion is cyclical and constantly changing. What went out of fashion in the last century can sometimes be taken as the basis in our time. It's my opinion!
Thank you - it's informative!

really very awesome dress selecting dear.. i am always appreciate your work.just excellent high thought quality skills.my dear friend.. @velimir because you giving alots of new dress fashion and shoes, bags.its very difference every another person post.i think that, its very talented post in this platform. Fashion always evolves according to the times. The fashion world is not easy to predict. Each generation, every decade, every year, and even each season has distinctive characteristics and characters. Actually if you look closely, fashion trends just spin. If you look from the basic model, the design of the shirt actually did not change much from time to time, only the seasoning is shifting, it when viewed from the fashion books. Fashion trends are just spinning, for example the mode in year X will return boom in year A.. thanks to sharing for your great post.very well done.take care yourself and best of luck of your great work may god bless you..

Well thank you @velimir for taking us back to the history, yes you are right fifties there was a war going, people were broke, they weren't aware what to do, they were moving from one place to another, that was harsh hard time, and then after the world war 2, people started to take breath of peace and then fashion industry started showing what they got. Girls start wearing fashionable clothes, and fashion industry made his start, we all know that History Repeat it Self, so does the fashion. nowadays we are seeing girls wearing clothes, that in the sixties girls use to wear. The old trend is coming back. That's what your today's photography is all about. you have shown us the beautiful dresses, that is has a clear relation with the old art industry. Thank you so much for showing these artistic clothes. have a good day :)

For me, the 60s is tye dye and bell bottom jeans and sun dresses. I think it came from the bottom up, where lasting change comes from. Young people, and lots of them, quit caring about society doings and started caring about the doings of Society.

We children of the 60s lost our nerve somewhere along the line. A lot of things changed, but it could have been great. Ah, well. Maybe the current generation can finish the deal.

Thanks for a great look at a part of the 60s that I had no direct contact with. No Tye Dye and bell bottoms :)

Humans have known fashion from centuries ago. begins with simple clothes made of bark or animal skin.

Then along with the development of human civilization, then the way they dress more and change and become better and better than ever. Humans began to recognize fabrics and created a more decent shirt and better able to protect them from the weather.
