Discovering Dilijan!!!
If you ended up to the point of reading this line, means at least you are interested to know, WHAT is Dilijan?
First and utmost this is the place in Armenia, which my beloved one and I tend to visit most (at least once a week) no matter what.
Just grabbing half ready (from the last trip) backpacks and here we are, on the road!
Few facts about Dilijan:
Dilijan is well known, so-called "spa town" located in Tavush region of Armenia, around 107 km southwest from Yerevan
it holds several nicknames, such as "Armenian Switzerland" or "Local Switzerland."
It hosts the famous UWC Dilijan College, founded by Ruben Vardanyan and Veronika Zonabend. The total investments for building consisted of $150 mln. The conductor of the education is Cambridge IGCSE.
the air here is so clean that it tends to cure the severe headaches and increases appetite
since 1947-s Dilijan started to produce its mineral water, aimed for medical purposes usage.
a tunnel leading to Dilijan through the mountains is almost 2.5km long.
The place we love to stay most is Tufenkian Old Dilijan Complex.
Why?
Despite being a 3-star hotel, it has the best service we ever experienced in Armenia, as well as interior design, clean and tidy rooms and of course, location!
Besides, as a hint to the travelers, during the low season, they tend to do 50% off from the primary rate, which becomes very affordable.
Our favorite place to eat is a beautiful place called "N2."
It has modern design and serving staff is mostly teens starting from 14y.o..
The service fee is never included, as administration give you the opportunity to evaluate their young team service level, giving them a motivational gap to grow.
