Seal Attack In New Zealand - I Got Chased By A Seal | WastedLife

in #travel6 years ago

We are back to Swift Life and we are heading south to see Wild NZ Seals. The wild seals in Oamaru give a great flashback moment for Sophie as she reunites with an old friend from our last trip to New Zealand. These wild seals are pretty relaxed but once you get too far into their territory they will let you know.
We start the day with excitement as we are about to go watch and swim with Dolphins in Akaroa. Akaroa is just 75 kilometres from the city of Christchurch, New Zealand, Akaroa is a historic French and British settlement nestled in the heart of an ancient volcano.
But then the bad news hit us! So plans had to change and we knew where we go straight away. Just a 4-hour drive and there we went to see the Wild Seals of Oamaru.
Then to see the mystical Moeraki Boulders on the East Coast of New Zealand.
The Moeraki Boulders are a group of very large spherical “stones” on Koekohe Beach near Moeraki on New Zealand’s Otago coast. These boulders are actually concretions that have been exposed through shoreline erosion from coastal cliffs that back the beach.
The boulders are one of the most fascinating and popular attractions on the South Island.
We are btw. super sorry that we havent really been vlogging lately. But we are back now!! and we have so much excitement planned :)

I really enjoyd the Van Life series where we got too see both the good and the not so good about travelling in a van, that series was what got me hooked to the channel.
Also ofcourse videos like the one about the natural hot pools where we get to see the hidden gems of a place is always welcome.

Have fun and hope you get on the ferry soon.

Thank you so much for the feedback. We really appreciate it when someone can take the time to tell us what they actually enjoy. We are missing our van a bit while in NZ and this would be the perfect country to have a van. There are so many travellers here having a blast!
We will be heading back to Europe in early May and we will have our Van Back then while in Germany : )

Will be cool to get to see you back in the Van but to be able to see parts of NZ in your videos is also really nice.

wow nice beach In New Zealand . I love seals. I have never seen seals at sea in my country. Only at zoo.

Such a nice beach. Which country are you from?

i dont like to be attacked by seals lol. what did you do then?

Just have to move away from them pretty fast. Luckily they are slow so your not in too much danger but still no one want to see an angry seal coming for them : )

yeah..."Life waster"
free life of a bird which is so interesting and man just want to get this...
freedom!!!
Getting freedom, the life he spends,so adventurous and amazing too...
i love the freedom,but _______

@upvoted @resteem

: ) It's a fun way to live and really anyone can do it. But yes for a lot of people 'the bottom line' is important. A lot of people have work or businesses online so no matter where they travel they can make a living.

OMG!
That's very scary

Luckly they dont move very fast. But they do get quite aggressvie,

Intresting! Good luck Mat and Sophie!

Thank you so Much!

Akaroa had an awesome fresh berry smoothie picked from the garden place last time I was there (years ago). Looking forward to hearing your adventures.

Hope you managed to do one of the tours there. They are amazing!
The smoothie sounds very good. WIll have to look out for it if we are back in Akaroa : )

For me the videos with a certain topic like the slang/phrases or candy are more enjoyable than vlogs with (randomly) mixed content.

Besides a probably challenging topic for a travelling channel:
How do you asses your previous travels concerning carbon footprint (or general environmental impact)? And do you plan to adapt concerning this topic?

Thank you so much for the feedback. Right now we are really trying to find our feet on what we should film and what people like to see. So It means a lot.
We really enjoy doing the videos that are based on a certain topic so will are planning in a few weeks to focus on them a bit more.
Thats a great idea, we like our videos to be quite light hearted but it is a very important topic and that is a very good idea to talk about. Thank you : )
All the best.
