Trento, Italy: part 1

Trento is called the Gateway of the Dolomites mountains – an amazing mountain system that adorns northern Italy. The city is the provincial center of the region of Trentino – Alto Adige (Trentino – Alto Adige, Trentino-Sudtirol).

In ancient times, the area around the modern Trento was inhabited by Celtic tribes, which lived here for more than two thousand years.

In the 6th century BC the Romans came to the place of the Celts, and those, in turn, changed the Goths and, later, the langobards.

Here we can find the cult of the God Neptune, the symbol of which is the same trident. According to legend, the Lord of the Seas once climbed the river Adige to establish his power on the Alpine lands.

Trento can be interesting for tourists at any time of the year: in winter it attracts proximity to popular ski resorts, and in summer-opportunities for a relaxing holiday in nature. In addition, you can find numerous monuments of architecture and art. It must be said that the local architecture closely intertwined features of German Gothic and Italian Renaissance, which in itself deserves attention.

Most of the attractions of Trento are concentrated in the historical center of the city, many buildings are restored here, and for buildings of the Renaissance also restored their original pastel colors.

In Trento you will find a synthesis of two cultures: the sober elegance of the Austrians with the softness and emotion of the Italians gives this area a special charm and gives rise to the desire to return here again and again.
