🧐 RETRO lovers! Discover the place where time has stopped!
Hey Steemian Friends! 😉
Do we have here any eccentrics with a passion for vintage?
If so, I have a place for you that you will love!
Pack your suitcases and go to Malaysia, where Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village is waiting for you!
And what is this place? Take a look!
Recently, we went to Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village with @the.foodinim and our Chinese friends Calvin and his wife Kat.
It is a place located in the suburbs of Ipoh, also known as Serene Hill.
This village was built for visitors so that they can enjoy the charm of Ipoh's history in a natural scenery.
Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village is open almost everyday from 9 am to 6 pm. You will not pay a lot for the entrance. The prices are between 6 RM (1,5$) and 10 RM (2,5$).
It is interesting that because of its huge fame and crowd of tourists, it has recently been closed for the request of local community. The reason was noise and huge traffic jams, which made it impossible for the people to function normally. However, after a longer break, the village was reopened for visitors.
The whole place is "walking thru". You can also use a tandem or rickshaw for more fun and it's included in your ticket!
The place offers a lot of interesting points!
The navigation was easy thanks to a clearly prepared map on which you can see all the attractions of this area.
Wish Tree
The Wish Tree bends from the red ribbons! If you have a dream that you want to fulfill, write it down on one of ribbons and put it on the Wish Tree!
Of course, do not tell anyone what you have written down! :)
The Chinese believe that once your desire is fulfilled, your ribbon will fall off the tree and you will be able to visit the place again to hang up the next one with the new dream on it.
Vintage houses for rent!
You can enter the houses which you will find at the beginning of the road around the lake and look around inside. You will see black-and-white photos of Ipoh's people and you will able to check out the old everyday equipment, which they use.
Many opportunities to take funny pictures
This place earns money on tourists that is why there are many mock-ups set up here, which perfectly fits the role of photographic attractions.
Just put your head into the hole and you can become a Malaysian settler or a woman giraffe from the Karen tribe.
Does anyone mind that some items are far from the history of Ipoh? Not at all! 😄
Mysterious caves and rocks formations
You can also admire the small waterfalls and really wonderful views of the rocks piling up. Some of them will also surprise you with paintings and arranged scenes from the past.
What vintage connoisseurs love the most
Here you can admire old household equipment, toys, books, tapes, kitchen accessories, etc.
Jurassic Park
If you still feel unsatisfied, at the end of the route, huge dinosaurs are waiting for you. Surrounded by tropical nature, you can feel like the heroes of Jurassic Park!
Don't be fooled by these small looking leaves! In fact, they are the size of a large umbrella!
Do you like this place?
Add it to your travel wish list and write down this address:
22A, Persiaran Pinggir Rapat 5a, Taman Saikat, 31350 Ipoh, Negeri Perak
While visiting this place I felt like in a surreal fairy tale, in which the history of Ipoh combined in a funny way various accents with places from distant parts of the world.
What do you think about the of attractions on offer? Which of them did you like the most? I look forward to hearing your comments!
