Travel Digest #202

Introduction

Hi @livinguktaiwan here again bringing you the latest edition of the Travel Digest. Today two of the featured posts are from a couple (I'm not sure if we've had that before) and they take us to the rice fields in Philippines and a mediterranean jewel in Turkey. Another featured posts takes us to Korea.

Travel Digest

The first featured post is from one half of the couple @jessbear who goes to northern Phillipines and hikes the mountain. She starts at Banaue and treks among the eighth wonder of the world - the rice fields which are over 2000 years old and reaches her destination the massive Tappiyah waterfall. Next she goes to Sagada, a gorgeous mountain town surrounded by pine forests, caves, rivers, and the mysterious hanging coffins! The hike here is just as challenging and includes going on all fours through mud, river and pitch dark caves. And if these two hikes weren't enough, she also does an early morning hike to see the sunrise at Sagada.

Our second featured post is from @fareast-history travelling from Moscow to spend the new year in Seoul. A good tip from him, a taxi from airport costs $100 but a shuttle bus costs $15 per person only and takes around the same amount of time. An hour later he arrives at Gangnam in Seoul and gets himself a bottle of champagne in preparation for the new years celebration. On new years day he takes the hop on hop off sightseeing bus, stopping at Meyong Dong a popular shopping ares, the City Hall to watch people skate, and strolls along the Cheonggyecheon stream in the evening. Next day he heads up to the world's 5th tallest building the Lotte Centre and visits the Dongdaemun Design Center.

Our last featured post today is from a Steemit newbie @backpackingchef (we love supporting newbies) who was introduced to Steemit by his partner @jessbear. In his first travel post he goes to Antalya on the south coast of Turkey, a city perched on the cliffs of the Mediterranean Sea. This is a lovely old town with a picturesque harbour and the Kurşunlu falls which is one of his favourite place. Another stunning scene is the Düden falls which drops from the cliffs of Antalya into the Mediterranean Sea.
