RE: Tangalooma Beach Resort #1

in #travelfeed5 years ago

It would be so revitalizing and enjoyable to spend some time on an island where you knew the air was fresh. Sometimes in the city streets, one almost feels like holding one's breath.

You mentioned that the island was all sand. So there weren't any Moreton Bay Fig trees there? ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Hello @allyinspirit many thanks for your welcome visit and support. Moreton Island has very pure drinking water too and I'm sure I didn't see any Moreton Bay Fig Trees near the resort itself. I'm not sure about the rest of the island as I didn't get further than decent walking distances for the resort. Its a good question though and I'd be interested in fidning out if there are actually Fig Trees growing anywhere on the island.

Pure drinking water just in itself would be worth staying at Moreton Island for.

I just did a quick search Trudee, to find that Moreton Bay Fig trees can be found on Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island but no mention of them growing on Moreton Island.

But according to Wikipedia this common name is derived from Moreton Bay in Queensland, Australia and so maybe they grow in Moreton Bay but not the island. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

You're a good girl doing all that research and getting back to me @allyinspirit Thank you for that. We definitely have a lot of Moreton Bay Fig trees in and around the Brisbane area. Some are very stately and must be a fair few years old.

Pleasure Trudee. Love the stateliness of these trees. There are a few in the Sydney Botanical Gardens and close by in the Domain too.

Sadly another historic Moreton Bay Fig has just been removed. This time from Sydney's Admiralty House ~ With much outcry. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

They are stately indeed @allyinspirit I can just imagine the outcry in Sydney. You'd think with all the technology and expertise available a good compromise could have been made.
