Axeman's Travelfeed #007 - Stone Castles
The Summer has ended and actually it is starting the season of colorful and dramatic Baltic sunsets. Autumn is always best time to catch those going a bit away from Klaipeda
This is one of my favorite places called The Dutchman's Cup. It's a hill with about 24 meter high bluff located in Lithuania's Seaside Regional Park. Well, generally it is still sand dune and was created about 12000-15000 years ago. This parabolic dune is a subject of constant strong erosion caused by the sea and winds. As a result quite often some trees are falling form the top to the beach making very special foreground composition perfect for a landscape photography
But this time I have something very special in addition to overall simply stunning colorful sunset with magic cloud formations - almost best of the best what you can get on Baltic coast.
So when running across the coast looking for some fine foregrounds and trying to catch all those changing colors in the sky I have stumbled upon very nice set of stone figures. This is not the first time I saw them at this location. Most probably there is a real enthusiast (or maybe even few) coming here to have some fun with this very fine hobby. The beach here is quite full of bigger and smaller stones of various forms. So that is definitely best place around for such kind of art.
Nobody was already at the beach at this time, but figures were still intact and showing all the beauty of balance magic... And was even few and some more interesting and complicated
So enjoy this not really long, but colorful story!
