What a wonderful post, you made it seem like you've lived in Taiwan for many years. The photography is wonderful.
Also I was happy to see a "certain" symbol used for it's original purpose. The art is very appealing, and no doubt you could go back many times and always discover new details.

You are right. The symbol you mentioned can often be seen here in its original meaning especially in Buddhist temples. The art is really extraordinary, completely different than in our churches. Maybe a whole human life is not enough to find every detail and understand the meaning behind it.
