Travel story - West of Iran - Part three (the end)

Hello

[Day 24 of my personal challenge]

There was a long delay between part one and two, lets fix that this time. You can read part one here and part two here.

The best day of this short trip was over, but it doesn't mean that the next day wasn't fun. It was around sunset when we left Sarab Gyan (a national forest in west of Iran) to go to Khansar (a city in Isfahan province). My friend wanted to buy honey from his friend who lives in khansar. It's also a nice city, so we thoughts it's a good idea to spend half a day there.

We used google maps to find the shortest route to Khansar and following google, we ended up in a road that actually felt like the end of the world. Following gmaps, we drove through a small village and somehow the road ended there. It was so dark and the road was downhill so we couldn't see more than 20 meters ahead. Car's light worked properly, but they are use for lighting straight ahead, not up and down.

While we were thinking what should we do next, someone came out of his house (the place was so quiet that engine's sound was easily heard even in the house) and told us that usually trucks use this road but you can cross it. So we decided to do it. Two of us got out of the car to check the road and guide the driver (the other friend). I think it took us about half and hour to cross that part of the road which was not even a kilometer. At some places we couldn't find the actual road, it was just the ground, potholes full of water, some vague tire tracks and no light.

The situation was as bad as this shot. Anyway we got through with some difficulty, and this was just the beginning of a gravel road that had no traffic. We were totally alone.

Finally, we arrived at Khansar. We set up our tent in a park. It was so cold, but a tent and a sleeping bag was all that we had. Again, we survived the harsh condition (just kidding, it wasn't harsh, just difficult and uncomfortable).

But the next morning was beautiful, the first thing I saw when I opened the tent was this cat. At that time I guess temperature was bellow zero Celsius.

It was a nice park and trees had nice colors in that that time of the year. Khansar is known for its colorful trees in the autumn.

It was time for breakfast. We had breakfast in the tent and after that packed our stuff to leave the park and buy honey from my friend's friend.

It was lunch time that we were done with honey shopping. After lunch we decided to go around the city before sunset. Khansar is not far from Isfahan, so we had enough time to check out the city until sunset and then leave Khansar and arrive at Isfahan before midnight.

Though this city alone, deserved spending 2-3 days on, but 3-4 hours wandering in alleys was still worth it.

What I liked about this city was how nature and old architecture were living together in that city.

In the end, this mountain was calling, but we didn't have the necessary time, equipment and ability to climb it, so we rejected its call. 😄

I enjoyed this travel story very much. I heard that mountain calling and the cat almost purring (or was that shivering?). My heart stopped beating while you navigated through dark pothole territory and it started again to drink in the glorious colours of both autumn and the architecture.

Glad you enjoyed it. As far as I can remember, the cat didn't make any noise.
