Travel Tip: Pernstejn Castle, romantic medieval castle haunted by White Lady

Welcome to my Travel Tip series where I promote some of the most beautiful places, interesting landmarks and impressive architectural sites of my homeland, the Czech Republic.
Today, I will take you to one of the most beautiful but also haunted Czech castles, the famous Pernstejn Castle.

Situated in the village of the same name (Pernstejn), not too far from Brno, the second largest city of the Czech Republic, the Pernstejn Castle is an exceptionally well-preserved Gothic castle that was founded in the second half of the 13th century.
Pernstejn was reconstructed and extended many times throughout the centuries to follow and there are features from numerous architectural styles visible on the castle including Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Classicism but the Gothic core of this impressive building is still in great condition, making it one of the best-preserved medieval castles in the country.

The Pernstejn Castle is also known for being haunted by the White Lady, a type of female ghost dressed in all white. According to an old legend, the White Lady is a ghost of a young woman named Adleta, a servant who disappeared from the castle under mysterious circumstances in medieval times.
Today, the castle is open to public. There are four tours that visitors can choose from, each covering different parts of the castle. The basic entrance fee starts at 120 CZK (5 EUR / 6 USD) per person.

There are many haunted places in Pakistan, i know about one incident, may be you won't believe me but its a true story.
I am pretty sure there is an explanation to it:).... Thank you for sharing the story with us.

Wow what an amazing place.Loved the Pernstejn Castle.What an amazing architecture and it look so good as it has brilliant design.That is great it has been opened to visitors and it is scary that it is haunted.But there are many places which is haunted but good for visiting in world.Yeah i also heard that there is Royal Place in Nepal which is haunted and i had visited it .In that place a Royal family was killed and it is said that they hunts the place.
Oh, yeah, I am sure we all have many haunted places in our countries just like Pernstejn Castle in my homeland of the Royal Palace in your country.
THIS sounds like a horror story of a horror movie, I recently watched a horror movie about the biggest house in California which is hunted, this kinds of places amazes me very much and i would very much like to see it, even if I don’t see the white lady just knowing the story then visiting the place would give me chills,cause that castle is huge and very old. Everything about this castle from location to age and the story related to it sounds like a scene from a horror movie would love to visit. Thabks for sharing keep it up.
Oh, you are brave... I hate to watch horror movies.... The last time I did watch one must have been years and years back.....

It looks like it is situated far away from the population, which makes it haunted. Its surrounding is very nice filled with greenery and mountains.
Oh, yeah, the majority of our castles are surrounded by woods and some distant places....
Once again after reading the post I did a quick search for the area.
Not very far from Brno, as you said. 40 km to the castle from the city and by car you can actually reach in a little more than half an hour. Could be a great place to travel when staying in Brno.

Pernstejn Castle is a real master piece with different architectural style. What lady sudden disappearance from the castle in old days kingdom was common at least in our region.Hopefully it will be no more haunted place now. Thanks for sharing @czechglobalhosts
