WHEN TREND GOES WRONG .. A study of Nigerian Youths

Hey Steemians,

Been a while on here due to a little breakdown of my body system and thank God am getting better now..

Today, I will be talking about Trend and when it goes wrong, especially among the Nigerian Youth... (A picture of me, inside my Real Estate office working on my system 👇👇👇👇👇👇)

When you hear the word TREND, nothing comes to your mind than; something popular, or probably something common in a particular period of time..

So many people tends to follow the trend without thinking twice; without looking deeply into the trend and the implications it might have on their personal life or even their good name. So many youth has lost their prestige and good name due to this single word TREND.

Some youth will see their friends doing something, and they will also do it; believing it's what people do now, let me do it too... Trends has made so many people to forgot their background and brought shame to their family name.

For example, the issue of Internet fraud and scam has been seen as a trending act in Africa, In which Nigeria is not an exemption from.... When this Internet fraud of a thing start in the early 90's, few people were into it... That time, it's not that common among the youth but when they turn it to trend.... It becomes something else.... Everywhere is full of fraudster..... There is hardly no place you go to in Africa, even in Europe that you won't see or hear about one or two fraudsters......

Coming back to Nigeria youths as a case study; so many youth now believed that they can only become rich by involving in internet scam..... The trend is now everywhere, to the extent that, even a graduate will go back to Internet scam after spending at least four good years in tertiary institution.... Quiet alright I know the economy is very bad... And our leaders were also corrupt, but Scam can't be and must not be the next option...

When Trend goes wrong what comes out of it, is what we're now hearing about the 80 fraudsters bursted by FBI in the US... So many people are involved in it, even the US citizens themselves are into it.... One adage says, "If there is no insider, thief wont just come and steal".... Somebody must have involve or inform the outsider to come and steal....

What is killing us in Nigeria and Africa as a whole is nothing but Trend... Doing what others are doing without looking at the moral, financial or cost implications of that thing...

Before giving ourself into following a particular Trend, we have to look into it in-depth @warfrica take note of this.....
