Triangular Snacks with Potato & Cauliflower filling

Today was one of those rainy days where could not avoid the temptation of having these potato filings with my evening tea. My husband helped me capture some of the snaps while I was preparing.

I will be sharing the step by step recipe here , so that you can enjoy some too!!

Ingredients For preparing the Potatoe & Cauliflower filling:

2 medium sized Peeled & Boiled Potatoes
1/2 cup of Green Peas
4 chopped green chillies ( Depending on the spicy level food you have you can adjust the taste)
1 tsp of salt( According to taste)
1 tsp dry roasted cumin seeds powder
1 tbsp of clarified butter
1 cup of finely chopped and parboiled cauliflower florets
1/4 cup of coriander leaves(optional)
1/4 cup of roasted peanuts( You can skip if you are allergic to peanuts)
1tsp ginger paste
1tsp turmeric powder

Ingredients for Preparing the outer cover:

2 cups of all purpose flour
1/3 cup water
2 tbsp of oil
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp carom seeds

To prepare the filling:

Add the clarified butter to the Frying pan and let it heat on a medium flame, once it is ready add the chopped green chilies, ginger paste fry for 1 minute and then add the Cauliflower florets and potatoes and saute it on a low flame for 2 mins , add rest of the ingredients and mix well ,keep it on a low flame for another 2 minutes and transfer it to a bowl and let it cool.

To Prepare the outer cover for the snacks:

Mix the all purpose flour, carom seeds , salt and add water slowly to knead the dough . The Dough should be smooth and not sticky , add oil when the dough is ready i.e. it does not stick to your hand while kneading.

Lets get ready to Prepare the yummy snacks:

Now make 8 medium sized balls out of the Dough and roll it into 4 inch circular shapes.
Cut into half so that it forms a semicircle.
Take little water and apply to the edges of the semicircle and seal the edges of the semicircle to form a cone
Add the filling in the cone

Seal the bottom of the cone to avoid leaking of the filling while baking or frying.

Now heat the oil for frying , you will know if the oil is ready by dropping a piece of dough , if it rises to the surface the oil is ready to fry the cones.

Allow it to cook on medium to low heat by turning the sides , so that the outer covering gets cooked.

Cook till golden brown and remove fro oil and drain the oil by placing it in a tissue paper.

Serve hot with sauce of your choice after the oil is drained. You can have it as an accompaniment with tea or coffee or any hot beverages.

Note: You can add other vegetables like cabbage, carrots if you would like instead of the potato. You could bake it too instead of frying.
