A Diamond in the Rough

This golf course here is truly beautiful, it's close to the ocean, it's 85 degrees out with a cool breeze and the rolling hills here are amazing. It looks to be $70.00 on a weekday to walk the course, or $90.00 for a cart. Cypress Ridge has been reviewed and recommended by Golf Digest as well. Pretty cool. Located in Arroyo Grande, California, it's not too far from Pismo Beach and SLO. Definitely a diamond in the rough.

On day like today, with the PGA Championship underway, I remember spending many days like this in the local club house eating, watching golf and playing dice games with friends. We would bet grilled cheese sandwiches, the stakes were high back then. When golf was on TV, it felt good to be at the course with friends, even when we weren't actually playing. Sometimes I would just hit the range or put on the putting green.
