Monterey Bay Aquarium

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is one of the main tourist attractions in a beautiful beach city. And it's only a couple blocks from Cannery Row. You can walk to and from in less than 5 minutes. Along the way there are bars and restaurants, mostly outdoor patio sitting. Totally laid back environment that's comfortable for any age group.

Known for its regional focus on the marine habitats of Monterey Bay, it was the first to exhibit a living kelp forest when it opened in October 1984. I thought the aquarium had been around for longer than it has. I've never actually been inside of the aquarium, I've always wanted to just never had the chance to.

There are hotels in this part of the city, mostly 5 star, minimum $200 per room, but they say it's worth it because all of the rooms have balconies that overlook the ocean.
