The Steemit Trending Reneissance | Spread the word about the tribes!
If you haven't been paying attention, there are all these so called "tribes" emerging on Steem. The easiest way to understand this is to think of them as the equivalent of subreddits in the Reddit.com website. Except that here we have tokens, instead of Reddit's Karma that has no (monetary) value attached to it.
Some people might not see the point and yes, we don't know what tribes will end up the most valuable, however, these communities have been long due already even by Steemit Inc in the form of SMTs (Smart Media Tokens), and I think it is a massively encouraging sign to see them being created already with Steem-Engine. t is a sign of the community maturing and starting to act and create value independent from Steemit Inc which admittedly has been under-delivering its promises. With the current trend, Steemit Inc won't be such a big actor – which is a good thing in a decentralized system, and why their selling of stake (if they're still doing it) is not a bad thing in the long term, despite putting selling pressure on the Steem price short term.
Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change
– Stephen Hawking
And change indeed is constant in Steemverse. People stress about the Hard Forks and whatnot, but I would be more worried if everything was stale.
I'm pretty sure @tarazkp has quoted the same thing, however, I have just finished a book by Stephen Hawking so I'd like to think that it would've popped in my head just because of that only.
Now, continuing with what I wanted to tell you about – the Steemit Trending Reneissance – and what I mean by that. Some OG Steemians might remember the golden days when all you needed to hit Trending was with actual quality content. I was one that got to live that glory for a moment, too, when my introduction post hit the number #2 or #3 in the front page for a moment. Now it's possible to relive those days within these communities. That is what just happened to me.
It was just a day like any other: I got back home from work to finish the post that I had initiated the day before. Deciding to use my little left-over time for editing pictures. Who would've known, I'm now the guy who's wasting no time. Am I a self-made man now? I think it's time for a book deal. "Motivation Man: Just another book you'll waste your time reading complete bullshit to feed my dreams."
Whoops, got carried away a little... Like I was saying, I posted some more pictures from my Norway roadtrip, and used the 'neoxian' tag, just because I've seen few other users use it, and I knew that much that it is a general topic community so no harm using it – anything goes. And well, today I noticed a comment left by @neoxian-city, a Neoxian curation trail account. I go see my pending rewards and see a hefty amount of NEOXAG there. 900+ is quite a lot compared to the 4 NEOXAG I've gotten in some other posts. And I notice that my post is at the top of trending in the neoxian.city front-end just under the promoted post from the tribe team.
I didn't expect that at all, like said, it was just a day like any other, posting photos from the trip. It isn't the same thing as hitting the trending on Steemit, however, it is an opportunity for content creators to get more organic recognition again within these communities who will have an active role of also governing their content and stopping abuse. Steemit hasn't taken such role across Steem content, and I think it is ultimately a wise choice, because they would quickly get painted as the upkeeper of tyranny of Steem blockchain had they started downvoting some posts with their stake. They have a delegation program now where apps can apply for a delegation, however, which I think is an accepted form of using their stake.
Creativecoin
This is another tribe I want to mention here on the context since I've told about it to many users already who are unaware of its existence, even though their content falls under the tribe's accepted content guidelines, which is all creative content. But if you're still unsure what falls under it, here's a few things that go, borrowed from @isaria's post:
Original Music Recordings, Music Performance (Covers or Originals), Written Compositions in Sheet Music Form, Musical Instrument creation or repair, Music Theory, Music Journalism, Art, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Digital Art, Photography, Visual Arts, Creative Videos, Film, Motion Pictures, Claymation, Creative Writing, Fiction, Poetry, Short Stories, 50 Word Stories, Creative Non-Fiction, Crafting, Jewelry Making, Home Improvement Projects, Gardening, Sustainability Projects, Off-grid Projects, Cooking, Theatre, Acting, Dancing, Architecture, Graphic Design, Performance art, Costume and Fashion design , Makeup tutorials, comedy sketches, etc.
As you can see, quite a lot, so what I hope you to do is to tell about Creativecoin if seeing someone posting regularly creative content without the 'creativecoin' tag. More eyes will find their content and likely they will also find more content that they enjoy – that has certainly been the case for me at least when browsing creativecoin.xyz, and I gotta say, it is slowly forming into my favorite tribe.
you might want to take notice of how you order your tags on your posts. Steemit only notices the first 5 tags .. so if you want your post to show up in the Steem tags.. they need to be in your first five ... so here you may have wanted to go with this order -- tribes, communities, content, trending, steemit, steem, neoxian, creativecoin, palnet, steemleo
Oh yeah, Steemit still using only 5 tags? That's dumb :D But thanks for pointing that out. I wonder if changing the order now would change it for Steemit, too.

:D Isn't it lots of fun? :D Congratz on the huge vote on Neoxian - I'm really enjoying all these Tribes and also seeing Steemians finding 'theirs'. Smaller communities always give you a bigger feeling of belonging. CCC is My Tribe for the forseeable future and am certainly hoping to find one or two more that I can enjoy.
Yeah! That big boy will make a good stake on its own :D
