What Does It Mean To Be a Lightworker? The @tribesteemup Bi-Weekly Question

in #tribesteemup6 years ago

Greetings You Steem-y Lot!

This is my answer to the @tribesteemup question "What Does It Mean To Be a Lightworker?"

I had to think about this question a lot, as "lightworker" is not a term that I resonate with generally.

For me, it brings to mind the new age (or new cage) woo-woo.

I've often seen people proclaim to be lightworkers and it's from a position of superiority and disconnection - both from those "sheeple" in the darkness and from their own bodies.

This is because they tend to be focused on higher realms and paying a lot of attention to light-beings, angels, Pleiadeans etc.

This is without being grounded and connected to nature and their place as part of it.

By escaping into the mental realm, they are able to avoid looking at their own unhealed wounds and everything is "love and light".

Unfortunately, they perceive their wounds everywhere by projecting onto others and therefore, even if they believe they are trying to "help" these others, they are still living in a them and us, divided way.

This is the purpose of the new age philosophy which, while it contains many truths, continues to promote the divide and rule philosophy that keeps humanity stuck.

Now, I'm certainly not saying that light beings, angels etc, don't exist. However, it is down to us to accept, make peace with and integrate our own shadows if we are to evolve.

This brings me onto what could be termed a true "lightworker" or maybe even a whole human (or hue-man - of all hues/colours).

This is an individual who takes ownership and accepts their darkness and their light. Someone who understands that they need to do the shadow work as well as the lightwork.

I think this is beautifully summed up in this quote by the incredible Carl Jung:

"One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious."

Only by accepting our entire self and making peace with our wounds do we truly step into our power.

From this place of power, we are best equipped to truly support others and co-create the world that we desire!

Namaste, Inla'kesh etc. etc. ;oP

While I definitely won't deny that there is a balance, there are definitely some dark things that don't belong down here. I will be sharing that in upcoming entries, so keep an eye out for my own personal experience. I tend to break the dark beings down into malevolent and benevolent dark beings; both do exist. I would wholeheartedly agree, though, that we, as humans ourselves, forget that.

That's very interesting. I have had some insights into that as well which I will share too. Please tag me when you post on this. :)

Woohoo - A Steemy!

Very interesting term. I compare to that vegans who are spreading the idea of protecting animals and I compared that to people who are educating people about cypto. But it looks like something related to religion by the name, but you are right anyone can be a lightworker if he spreads good ideas. ☺

Thank you for doing this great work Lighworker and also bringing it here to steemit :)

this is great Sam, I agree with you 100% I too have had a bit too much of this new age woo woo.

This is an excellent, sophisticated answer. Have some Nietzsche quotes that fit well with this; and indeed, I think fiction serves one of its major roles by making visible darkness safely, so that it can be considered and analyzed, rather than ignored. And by being concrete, rather than abstract, such considerations become available to all people, not only abstract thinkers.

If ignored, "darkness" is liable to appear randomly and prevent real progress in the direction of light. Whereas if both considered, then correct tools can be selected to achieve what is worth achieving.
