Hello everyone,

This is my second time in Otaru. I came here in the summer. Everything is the same but the atmosphere is different. Are you ready to explore Otaru with me?

Otaru

Otaru is a small harbor city in Hokkaido that has historical sightseeing spots. It's about 30 minutes from Sapporo by train. There are many things to see and do.

Otaru Canal

This is a symbol of Otaru. If you mention Otaru, I’m sure most people think about this place first. It’s an attractive sightseeing spot that is beautiful in any season. It's especially gorgeous in the winter.

Sakaimachi Street, Otaru

There are a range of shops on Sakaimachi street. Glass shops, dessert and sweet shops such as LeTao, Rokkatei, and many more. There are also many famous seafood restaurants.

Otaru Music Box Museum

This place is one of the most popular places in Otaru. In front of the building is a steam clock that releases steam every hour automatically.

Inside The Building
There are more than 2,000 music boxes of various shapes and sizes.

I can't show every place here in this post, but it was snowy and the ground was slippery. We had to be careful when we were walking. I hope you enjoyed my post.

Love the lanterns near the canal/river and the walking zone. I bet it is beautiful for walking during the night.
