Eikan-do Zenrin-ji Temple In Summer
Hello everyone,
Eikando temple is a well known autumn spot in Kyoto that has a light-up event in the evening. The popular spot is Hojo Garden, which has a small stream, a pond and a bridge connecting them with the building. This is a Japanese Buddhist temple with the main hall located on a mountain. You can walk around and explore the temple easily via a wooden corridor connecting all of the buildings.
Even though it's summer now, the beauty of the atmosphere doesn’t change.
From here you can see the Tahoto Pagoda that is nestled in the tress on the mountain. Most of the trees are maple and become very colorful in autumn.
I admired the designer who created these elegant, curved wooden stairs. I think this is the highlight of Eikando Temple.
I walked around the garden and looked at two statues. These have good meaning, as 知恵 means wisdom and 慈悲 means compassion. They are from Buddhist teachings.

Hours: 9:00-17:00

Beautiful Japanese temple with magnificent architecture, I especially like the curved wooden stairs! The temple has very nice atmosphere and looks relaxing with a lot of green trees. The maple trees would be very gorgeous in autumn. The two statues are beautiful with good meaning.
