Shopping for Gold in Souk

There is no need to rush to buy right away. Explore all of them.

Remember that gold is sold by weight in karat. You want the karat to be high because the higher the karat , the purer the gold you have.
For example, a 24 karat gold is 100% pure gold.
Pure gold is really soft. It only gets hardened by mixing it with different metals. So when there is lesser metal such as silver, zinc, copper and nickel, mixing into it, you don't get pure gold at all.
How to get to the Old Souk in Dubai
The Old Souk is located in the Bur Dubai.
The boats usually leave here for the other side of the creek.
The fare is so cheap. Only 1 Durham and it operates 24 hours around the clock.
Look for Al Ras Deira.
The souk is adjacent to the Dubai Fish and Vegetable Market.
Look for the Deira Corniche near Baniyas Square at Sikkat al-Khali Street.
The closest metro station walk is only 5 minutes away. Get off at Al Ras Station.
