Why Redistribution Matters

Crypto bear markets suck. You hate them. I hate them. We all hate them.. Except maybe the people who are just getting in for the first time right now, they won't hate them until next week.

There are some positives though. There is always a bright side, if you dare to search for it.

One of the main positives that I find highly interesting is the redistribution of STEEM and influence on the Steem blockchain.

We're witnessing a big shift in the way that STEEM POWER is held on this blockchain.

Whereas before it was mainly in the hands of a few main large hodlers who held the vast majority of the power for themselves, now it is in slowly spreading out into the hands of a fewer large hodlers, many more medium hodlers and many many more small hodlers.

This is a great thing for this blockchain.

This is a great thing in general for any blockchain.

The whole idea behind blockchain, crypto and Steem is to decentralize power and capabilities.

I think the recent news out of Steem, inc. has been a great wake up call for many:

We need to decentralize this blockchain further. It is by far and away too reliant on 1 team (namely, 1 individual) for the future growth and prosperity and vision...

In fact, I think we are far better off with more DApps coming to this blockchain, building out their own communities and developing their own solutions individually.

But we still need development at the blockchain level, right?

Of course. Who will carry this out? You see, if Steem, Inc. was smart, I believe that they would carry this out by doing what communities like Steem Monsters is doing: listen to the suggestions of the community.

Then put out countless bounties and goals and what-not and allow for mass collaboration in an attempt to deliver the end result.

Imagine how long ago we would've gotten SMTs had Steem, Inc. simply put out a bounty of ____ thousands of STEEM for the team/individuals who contribute/create it.
