EXCLUSIVE: It’s been a long time in the works but the reboot of classic warrior franchise Highlander is moving forward. I hear that Colony writer Ryan Condal has delivered a script to Lionsgate
Highlander was a franchise that consistently had far more impact than it would have seemingly deserved on paper.
Part of me has always credited the awesome Queen soundtrack and quirky, but perfect-all-the-same, casting in the first movie.
The second movie ... we don't talk about the second movie.
Then there was the TV series, featuring Duncan MacLeod. Same clan, different dude.
We binge-watched the TV show on VHS video ... that is fan dedication for you!
There was also "Highlander: The Animated Series", which I have zero experience of. Seemed a bit cheesy from what I could tell, and being a fan of Highlander I have a high tolerance for cheese ...
Looking back the whole franchise is showing it's age.
