#9 TV shows: Game of Throne 2/3 - Are you the alien who is not watching it already???

Good morning/afternoon/evening steemians!

As promised here we are on the second part of the very complicated review of Game of Thrones :P
Today we are going to discuss the actress casting, oh yeah that will take a while so fasten your seatbelt and let me introduce to you many of the actress playing a capital role in Game of Thrones.

We will talk about Cersei, Daenerys, Sansa, Arya and Brienne, but there are also Melisandre, Gilly or Missandei.
Don’t hesitate if you see I miss someone important for you, my sincere apologies, that was not my intentions!

As many other show, well as in life in general, women take the most important roles on Games of Thrones, we have Cersei Lannister, the queen mother, Daenerys Targaryen the mother of dragons who dreams about taking back the iron Throne, and the Stark sisters, battling throughout life in seek of revenge. We can say that in general, women have the main roles on Game of Thrones, men all around being puppet lead by money, alcohol and sex. Women on the other hand are looking for power and control, calculating each and every single of their move through the entire plot line.

I apologize in advance, but I will start with my favorite of all. I could say for her acting skills, that would be true, but not only… Oh my god isn’t she the most beautiful woman?

Emilia Clarke, aka Daenerys Targaryen, the mother of dragons

Well I had to start with her for impartial reasons… Ok, ok I am lying, but you got to admit or you will see that her playing act is incredible and flawless. She incarnates at perfection the mother of dragon, the pretending to the Iron Throne.
She is the exiled princess of the Targaryen dynasty. Nicknamed Daenerys the Stormborn, she and her brother Viceroys are sent incognito to Essos at the end of the rebellion lead by Robert Baratheon against their father the « mad king ». During seventeen years, she was placed under the authority of Viceroys, her older brother eager (too much btw) of getting the Iron Throne back! In exchange of an army he traded her sister to Khal Drogo, and making her « Khaleesi », queen of Dothrakis. First afraid of him, she will learn to love her husband as well as discovering and learning the culture and Dothraki language.
I won’t tell you much more, but this will help you understand her character. As an actress, Emilia Clarke incarnate the mother of dragons with perfection. She received an Emmy award for best second role in a drama Show for GoT in 2011. You will love her, you will hate her, you will find her vulnerable you will find her tough…. Oh man but you’ll love her…. OH YEAH!

Lena Heady, the cruel Cersei Lannister

Here are one wonderful actress, Lena Heady, She will suffer from EVERYTHING in this TV Show, you will see her happy, you will see her crying, you will see her plotting, you will see her manipulating, you will see her suffering, you will see her naked and ashamed, but also more powerful than ever. Wow, what an acting roller coaster, and she is stunning and so is her performance. But let me explain to you a little bit more about her character.
Cerise Baratheon, born Lannister, is queen of the seven Kingdoms of Westeros. She is married to Robert Baratheon, by order of her father Tywin Lannister. This allows her family, one of the richest of the continent, to have a hand on the politic of the crown.
But she has one little secret, it is not really a spoil, as everything I tell, you will learn in the first or second episode out of 50 or more than exist ;) She has a secret relationship with her twin brother Jaime. And even more, all of her 3 kids, she officially has with King Baratheon are in fact from her incestuous relation with her brother. She fears nothing, and are ready to everything, like any mother, for her children, and this includes treason, killing, lies, murder… One hell of a woman.

Sophie Turner, aka Sansa Stark

From now on I will try to be as concise as possible, or you will get lost before even starting :)
Sansa is the first daughter and second child of the Stark family. Naive at first she tried to live the life of a princess as you can see in fairy tales, but she will soon realize that she landed in a crazy world, a false world lead by politics, falseness, lies and treachery. She is promised to be the queen, the future espouse of Joffrey Baratheon, the heir of the crown. As soon as they married she became the principal target of the young king cruelty until Tyrion will come and help her.
You will follow her through her adventure and will see her evolution from being a young child only dreaming about princess and fairy tell, up to being a wonderful woman knowing what she want and do not in life. A very interesting character with an incredible evolution played by Sophie Turner who won many many awards for her leading act in GoT during years 2015 and 2016. She also appears in the saga X-men where she plays Jean Grey, a mutant with telekinesis and telepathy. A great actress, promised to a bright future… I even heard that she insisted that GoT do not last too much in order not to be « Sansa « forever… hmmm…

Maisie Williams, the young Arya

Well you can say young but she is growing up fast :) She is the youngest daughter of Eddard and Catelyn Stark. She is a little bit boyish and thus, more interested by weapon manipulation than the art of sewing. Her brother Jon Snow even made her forge a special sword for her called the needle. She will accompany her father Ned Stark to Kings Landing where her sword master, Sylvio Forel will teach her how to use her sword. When her father was arrested for treachery, she escaped thanks to her master, dressed like an orphan boy named Arry when she fled of the capital.
Maisie is a great actress, and despite her young age, it is a very impressing acting performance. Thanks to the exposure of GoT, she is now a well renown actress and is playing in many many movies.

Gwendolyn Christie, aka Brienne de Torth

Brine de Troth is the daughter of Lord Welwyn Troth, her character will appear later on the show, but for me she represents a great character in Game of Thrones. She is a fiercfull warrior, well trained and underestimated by all men fighting her. With her great posture and her impressive height, she wins most of her fights against men. But at the end what she really wants, and her toughest fight is to be recognized and respected as a knight, she also fall for the charms of Renly Baratheon who treats her with curtesy and kindness. But when Renly is murdered, she could not help him and guilt consumed her. She became totally devoted afterward to the Stark house.
Gwendoline Christie incarnate with great presence the role of Brine, a tough role to play for a woman. She played mainly in GoT, but I am pretty sure that a lot of you have seen her in movies like Hunger Games, or Star Wars, you geeks! ;)

Well It is almost impossible to talk about all « main » actors of Game of Thrones, it is a highly complex TV Show, and very very difficult to explain it all.
My advice just start to watch it yesterday, you are already late!
