The way you open this just straight up sets up horror and naivety so very well, you also address the mechanics of how they teleport, without going into exposition. There is a wonderful undercurrent of messing with things not understood, humanity going to far, that echoes old tales of fears of advancement that feels very appropriate for the prompt.
