TXT - Anti Fraudulent System

TXT is designed to eliminate fraudulent vendors.

It is an initiative of the IAB technical laboratory launched in May 2017 moreover resellers throughout the programmatic supply chain; a major challenge advertisers face when buying inventory on the stock market, especially as fraud evolves and becomes more sophisticated.

TXT offers publishers and content owners a simple and effective technical solution for listing authorized vendors of their inventory in a .txt file served from the root path of their domain's web server.

You can access an ads.txt record by simply visiting a domain. The file we are requesting, in this case "ads.txt", is added at the end of the root domain, for example. metax.io/ads.txt. These records can be indexed more efficiently to scale by running a web crawler. DSPs, in this case, can extract ads.txt records to compile a list of authorized sellers for each content owner. The list can then be referenced with the open exchange inventory. The idea is that if you buy programmatically from a vendor or reseller not in the ads.txt file of the content owner, then it is likely to be illegitimate and you probably do not want buy it.

TXT Plus App

TXT Plus is a decentralized application (DApp) currently deployed on the Ethereum test network, which exploits the blockchain to complement ads.txt. We have built a simple user interface to allow publishers to add their sellers to the blockchain and buyers to search their respective publishers. You can export the files for use on your Web server and also programmatically access the DApp via an API.

This is the first open source DApp that allows the digital advertising community to write on the testnet network using a test token and experience a complete blockchain experience. We used the well-respected Ads.txt standard because the industry rallied around this utility and we thought it would also be a great first introduction to the Ethereum blockchain.

In addition, the adChain registry is also available on the Ethereum test network. The adChain registry is a community-organized index for media participants across the sector. The community uses a cryptocurrency called adToken (ADT) to self-administer the membership list in a democratic process. We envision Ads.txt Plus as a springboard for wider adoption of more sophisticated encryption systems, such as the adChain registry.
