You are absolutely right, @jillann08. Parents play such a huge role in solidifying educational success. Reading is a subject that is impacted by parents reading to children from their very earliest days.

Mothers are especially good at reading to their children but so are many fathers. Teachers need both to help and support what children learn in school by reading to their children regularly when very young and listening and helping their children to read and complete their homework well when older.

Thank you for all that you do every day to improve education, especially for children like that little boy who lost his mother. May he get some extra help build his confidence and ability to read.
