#Ulog 06-June - 2018 "Turon Saba Banana"or Banana Cue
Banana Cue or known as "Turon" (Filipino words) banana is a famous snacks/ dessert in Philippines. It is made up of ripe saba banana( Plantain banana) rolled with brown sugar and wrapped in a spring roll or lumpia wrapper and fried until it turns to crisp. This Turon banana is a sweet dessert because it is topping with brown sugar and some used syrup like coconut sauce. This can be found anywhere in the Philippines in street foods and in any snacks house. Besides that, this is very affordable snacks foods it is very easy to prepare.
Yesterday we have made this recipe with a friend who used to visit me for Iftar. We are craving Filipino foods so we decide to make this recipe rather than buying outside. We went to LULU supermarket and luckily we found and bought this ripe banana saba.
To Make this recipe we need this ingredient:
- Ripe saba banana
- Brown sugar
- Spring roll wrapper
- Cooking oil.
Sweet Turon or Banana Cue
Procedure:
- Cut the ripe banana into 2 or 3 pcs depending on size.
- Prepare a frying pan and add cooking oil for deep frying.
- Upon frying adds brown sugar to absorb the sweet taste into saba banana.
- Place the saba banana, fried until it turns to golden brown .
- Take from frying pan and start wrapping in a spring roll wrapper.
- Rolled it into brown sugar coating in the spring roll before closing the wrapper.
- Deep- fried until it turns to brown-red and become crisp.
- Serve hot.
Sliced saba banana, deep-fry in a cooking oil with sugar.
