ULOG : 7-12-18 Wonderful street paintings

in #ulog6 years ago (edited)

Hi, today my sister Shara Mae left her props for their school performance so she asked me to follow her in their school, so I did. While walking home, I saw this murals or street painting where we wait for jeepneys. Seems like the paintings are new and all are beautiful.

Here's the 1st one I took, a painting of a beautiful Igorota woman wearing our cultural dress and a brave man holding an arrow for animal hunting I guess. He's also wearing "bahag" (traditional clothes of Cordillerans for men) I imagined him like Tarzan in a movie, he has a strong back mucles and a long hair. 😊

What do you think about this wondeful painting? Well, for me this looks like a sakura park in Japan. Actually, In Benguet we also have a mini Sakura Park. Yes, there are real-life cherry blossoms found in Sakura Park in Paoay, Sayangan. The trees are still young though and only average to three feet high. Visitors are encouraged to take caution while taking photos and to have respect for what the place stands for to the Sisterhood of Atok Benguet and Japan. Amazing it is!

They also paint a fascinating waterfalls which is common in Mountain Province. Also in Bakin Benguet, in which the water falls are cold and refreshing.

A group of men dancing our cultural dance. Ethnic dances in the different municipalities of Mountain Province have differences and commonalities in terms of steps, attire or costumes, purposes. These dances are part of the people’s customs and traditions that have become part of the Igorots’s identity. Eyhnic dance is one of our way of rituals or ceremony. Ethnic dances are also done in thanksgiving, after rice planting, after harvest, or for spiritual healing, one is dancing are done to worship Mt. Kabunian for an abundant harvest.

The last one that I took a picture is the painting of Mummy caves of Mount Timbas situated in Kabayan, Benguet. This place needed to be hike before witnessing this mummies displayed in a cave, it was truly mystical that is worth to be visited.
