Ulog No. 52: "Letting the Children Decorate the Christmas Tree"

in #ulog5 years ago

One of the children was at the calm corner busily playing with Zoob tubes, when I came with a small box of Christmas balls. I asked the child if he could help me hang the Christmas balls. He gladly said yes and told me that he was actually making circles out of Zoob tubes to decorate the Christmas tree. (What are Zoob Tubes? Continue reading fore more information.)

Another boy came and wanted to help, so I gave him a few Christmas balls to hang around the tree. A girl got excited, too, and started to help, whilst singing a song about Christmas. Then another girl placed the wooden blocks stacker under the tree.

The children thought of adding "Christmas gifts" to the tree so they made boxes using magnetic tiles and placed them under the tree. They also made little houses that look like Christmas villages.

They all decided to leave the Christmas tree just like that and they all seemed to feel a sense of satisfaction when they finished decorating the tree. It was great to see the children happily and enthusiastically working collaboratively with one another and praising each other for their individual contributions.

What are Zoob Tubes?

Zoob tubes are a type of moving mind-building modeling manipulative toys that you can click and pop together to form joints that rotate, limbs that extend, or axles that spin. Children can have endless creative ideas of what they can build with zoob tubes. They are also an excellent tool for children to develop their fine motor skills and expand their imagination and creativity.

Here is a short YouTube video to know more about Zoob tube:

Have you already put up your Christmas tree at home? How do you celebrate your Christmas in advance? Thank you for reading and leave a reply in the comments section below. Bye for now!
