A Summary about a Medicinal Plant I learnt today
Everyday around the world, million of patients visit the hospitals and health facilities to pay huge amount of dollars, to seek cure for various diseases which nature has blessed us with their alternative cures.
These natural remedies are affordable and easy to reach around us, if we have the right information.
In order to add to my fountain of knowledge on natural curative herbs, i find time to consult an experienced traditionalist in my area to learn these wonderful gift of Mother nature.
I do this daily and share in summary with the steem blockchain.
Today, i learnt about:
Schwenckia americana L.
Family: Solanaceae
Genesis and where found: It is majorly domiciled in the central and southern America, It can also be found in most part of Africa.

Uses
- The root is good in curing respiratory diseases when chewed by children
- Sap from the plant can be used as eye or nose drops for treating headache
- When crushed, it can be applied to treat anthrithis, rheumatism and intercostal discomforts
- It is also applied on the skin in treating skin infections such as measles and chicken pox by crushing the fresh stem.
- Body fever can also be resolved by drinking the leaf decoction.
