Ulog #1 Feeling Grateful- Today Experience in Interviewing the Ex Mental Health Patients

in #ulog6 years ago (edited)

What is Ulog?

It is a new tag/ trend on steemit that is heralded by our very own @surpassinggogle.
The idea is really simple. It's all about writing about the activities that took place in your day and sharing them on the #ulog tag. Ulog is basically like a logbook or journal of U(you).

So how did my day go?(Here it is My Ulog)

Today I had a great adventure with my friend Aulia, we went to some villages to conduct a survey about the villagers mental health.

This project is actually belong to the Aceh Provincial Health, we are here as surveyors to help them in interviewing the respondents.

But now, I won't telling you about the survey itself. I am here gonna share you our experience in facing some mental health patients.

The target patients to be interviewed in this survey is the one who is already heal or in good physical/mental condition and be able to stand alone, means that he or she can take care of herself.

They know how to prepare foods for themselves, taking a bath, consuming medicine, and so forth.

As we have many respondents to be interviewed, we have to come to many houses to meet people which finally lead us to face various cases and problems.

Well, The first respondent was a single woman who live alone in her parents house. Unfortunately both her dad and mom have passed away long time ago.

She only has two relatives, a brother and sister who have got married and living separately each other.

The patient told me that she felt so sad after her parents perish as nobody wanted to take care of her. As the first child in the family, now she is getting older day by day, she can't work to fund her basic need because people are too afraid to trust her as a good worker.

As a result, she just wait the mercy of neighbours and her younger sister or brother to help. To tell the truth, she actually hate to face a condition where she has to beg them for money.

In fact, both of her relatives always said that she is an extravagant person even what they've given actually far away from enough.

I have no idea how sad and depressed she is in facing this kind of condition. I'm afraid she remains get back the same condition as a patient, again.

Luckily, now the government of Aceh would like to conduct a project to help the ex mental health patients to find their own skill, so they can develop their ability in creating something.

Hopes she could find her passion soon as she used to spin bag or cloth before. She is expert in this.

Hearing her story of life made me understand more how to live my life. We should be grateful enough for what we have.

We might sometime think that we have a huge problem in life, but we didn't realize that on the other hemisphere, someone else is suffering in facing the double or even triple huge problems to solve than us.

We too early to judge that we are the most suffering person on earth sometime. We ignore others because our selfish heart.

Thanks God as always for giving us a good physical and mental health condition.
