RE: ULOG 156 - Result of a prawning session at The Entrance, NSW

That’s a nice haul! We call them craw dads or crayfish where I come from. We would catch them at night with a light just like that, but with our bare hands. They would like to hang out on the rocks right off the shore of Lake Superior. Probably a little easier work than wading in a fast current with a net, but you seemed to catch a lot!

Nice set up and video!

Hi there.
I had a look at what craw dads look like and they are actually different than those. Craw dads would crawl the bottom near rocks etc whole those prawns or shrimps are swimming or hanging against sea weeds, impossible to catch them bare hands because they would jump very fast and sometimes off the water. But I bet both are very tasty too.

Yeah, I was going to say that they are not the same exactly, but probably share the same species. Different adaptations for different environments, pretty cool to look at the similarities and differences.
