Most people who go to Vietnam is for holidays but for me, it’s always been about work. After ending my work journey in Malaysia for almost 25 years, I finally decided to take a leap of faith and move to work in another country. I would never have expected to do something this brave or drastic but I guess sometimes, we just need to shake off those fears and go ahead with the flow. Plus I wanted to check off this box before it’s too late.

With the support and understanding from my hubby and family members, I made this bold move and here I am today !

I arrived at Saigon on Sunday, 3rd Mar and took a local transit flight to Danang. Due to time difference I wasn’t sure what time my domestic flight was but thankfully God was looking down at me and it was then that I realised that my flight is just one hour away.

Oh No ! I still haven’t checked in.

I rushed to the Domestic Terminal which thankfully was just 100 meters away and immediately checked in. Good News ! I didn’t miss my flight however the flight was delayed by 1 hour. Arriving at the hotel with four other team mates whom I would be working closely with the next two years was interesting.

Oh Yes ! I had a my own limo pick up from the airport. Totally unexpected and impressive, I have to say. I’ve worked for so many years in a hospitality organisation but never been given such treatment. All this is so new to me. Takes some getting used to.

I will have total of 6 days with the entire team; getting to know them better and reading between the lines of how this organisation and the country’s culture is all about. Before coming on this trip, I’ve heard of many different versions of opinions about this group. Sometimes, hearing so much is bad news as it can cause creation of bad perception. I choose to take it with a pinch of salt and not to dwell so much into the politics of the company.

After all, I’ve left everything behind in Malaysia and am now here. Well, I do have another few days with my family before I’m finally at full work throttle with them. It may not always be green on the other side but it’s as green as you want it to be as the decision is your hands.

After two whole days of visiting several resort properties in this island, I am now travelling to Natrang. Before I move over to Natrang, let me share with you some beautiful photos which I managed to take in Danang.

In conclusion, my room is perfect ! They gave me an Executive Suite with Ocean View. They are certainly good at impressing people, got to give them credit. I could write a whole post on just these two days but it will be too long. So, let the photos show you what this property has got to show to the world.

Now, I can truly understand the pride the locals have for this organisation and as to why they are so passionate and aggressive in their work. If I were them, I would do exactly the same hmmm… maybe more over the limit.
