Social media are computer-mediated technologies that are made in order for the people to share informations, to know about the recent news in the community nor in the world, to learn something, to communicate/socialize, and to gain profit or money. It could also be a strong tool for business minded people to advertise the product they're selling.

One of the commonly used social media is facebook. Me, I am also a facebook user. Facebook is a platform where the people posts what they want to share. You could also like, share, and react to other's posts if you want to. You can communicate and socialize to other people. Suddenly, the company which made the facebook led by Mr. Zuckerberg has their greatest issue today. As what I've read on the articles and on the news, there are many accusations on facebook. About privacy, "drug messenger", and many more. Hope that the facebook will surpass all these challenges they encounter.

I found another social media or a platform that is great for blogging and sharing ideas. And this is Steemit. First I thought that it was a scam but after I have read some articles about it, I was mesmerized. Thanks for introducing me to this great platform bro @ligarayk. You can gain money by just posting or making blogs. That's very interesting. I love steemit, the communities are kind, you can learn something, and you can enhance your talent while gaining money. Me, I have enhanced my talent in singing and composing songs by the help of this platform.

WHY DID I SAY THAT STEEMIT WILL BE THE NEW FACEBOOK?

Steemit will be the new facebook because it's like facebook but enhaced or more developed. You can post whatever you like, you can do whatever you want but here is the twist you can gain money. Someone told me that I can earn money in facebook. You can comment, like (upvote), or share (resteem) just like what you usually do on facebook. You can learn something about blockchain, cryptocurrency, and other things about internet, about how it is done. You can also socialize to others in this platform.

I've heard that there will be a steemit messenger. I've seen a post about steemit messenger beta. I was amazed that there will be like that in this platform. It could make us all steemians unite and socialize to each other. You could directly send a message to other steemian easily. Such a wonderful idea.

This is the first thing that goes into our minds when we hear steemit. Yes you can gain money by just blogging, posting videos, photography, showing your talents, and many other things here on steemit. I have already got my first payout and I am very happy about it.

• You can gain friends!

Here on steemit, you can socialize to others. You can join to all communities here. They are very kind and helpful. If you ask something they will answer it. They will guide you in your journey here on steemit. You can gain many friends in this platform. I said it because I've already experienced it. I gained a lot of friends here.

• You can enhance your talent here!

Just like facebook, you cant post pictures, videos, blog here. It could be about your talent. If you post or make a blog on your talent/s, it could be singing, drawing, dancing, making poetries, photography and others, there will be someone who will give a comment and give some advices to you. The things that you need to do, your mistakes, and the ratings. So you can really enhance your talent here. Almost all of the members here are professionals, so you can really say that all things that they will tell is based on their learnings or experiences. They will tell you how to improve your talent in such a way that you'll be encourage by them. And it is free by the way. I have already experienced it that's why I said it.

WHAT ARE THE SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES OF STEEMIT AND FACEBOOK?

SIMILARITIES :

• You can like (upvote), comment, share (resteem)

In facebook you can like, comment, and share. Steemit also has all these features as well but these are named in the other terms. The like in facebook is upvote in steemit, comment in facebook is also comment in steemit, share in facebook is resteem in steemit. They don't have the same name but they have the same functions.

• You can post anything you want but has limitations

Both facebook and steemit is a great platform for posting or making a blog. You can post anything but with limitations. Know what the right things to posts. Before you post think carefully if the post breaks the limitations. For example you want to post about what happened on your day, try to think which part that will not be included on your post. In steemit there is #ulog if you want to post or make a blog about your day. Think before you click.

• You can search for the person if you want to see his/her profile and posts

Both platforms has a search button at the top. You can search for someone if you want to see his/her posts or profile.

• You can follow/unfollow others

Both has follow and unfollow button in the user's profile. You can follow and unfollow others if you want to. The many followers the better.

• You can delete your post if you want to

If you want to delete your posts. You can delete it, both has a delete button.

• You can earn money

I know that in steemit I can earn money but somehow I have also heard that I can also earn money in facebook. I didn't experience that I earned money in facebook but someone told me that I can earn money in facebook.

DIFFERENCES :

• The features of the two

Each of the platforms has its own kind of features. If you look at both platforms you can really tell that the two platforms has different features. (except the like, comment, and share button)

• Creation of posts/blogs

In facebook you can post directly while in steemit, there's three stages that you need to fill in to formally post it. These are the title stage, the body, and the tags. Title stage is where you will put the title of your post. In the body stage, you will put the body of your post. And lastly the tags, it is where the tags of what your post all about. If it is all about music then you put #music or if it is a poem then you put #poetry. You need to have five tags in order to post it.

• You need to use markdown style techniques or HTML codes in posting on steemit

In posting on steemit, you need to know about markdown style techniques or HTML codes in order to have diversity in your blog. It makes the blog/post much precised and all the ideas are on the right sequence. The post is much understandable if you use those. Facebook doesn't need HTML codes and markdown style techniques.

• You can send messages on facebook unlike in steemit you can't

You can send messages on facebook to others directly unlike on steemit. But I've heard that they will put steemit messenger on steemit. I hope they do so.

• In facebook there's a reaction button unlike on steemit there is none

Facebook has reaction button on the posts. It's like emojis that comprises your feelings on a certain post. (like, laugh, shocked, love, sad, angry). Hope it would also be apply here on steemit it would be funny hihi.
