Ulog 28 Apollo Chinese Restaurant ( Hilado Branch )

The history of Apollo Restaurant dates back to the time when the Chinese sent out their native homeland to seek their fortunes elsewhere bringing with them their dreams for a better and more peaceful life. Many of these Chinese reacehed the Philippines and settled in various parts of the country, and among them, Chong Chin Hai " Charlie " amd his wife Matea, Who decided to live in Bacolod City, Province of Negros Occidental.

Having a gift of whipping up authentic Chinese dishes, Mr. Chong mde us use of his culinary skills to earn a living of his family. On July 16, 1969, Mr. Chong founded and established his small restaurant at Plaza mart, The City's first mall, and called it Apollo Restaurant after the spaceship Apollo 11 which successfully landed on the moon that same year.

The couple's children became part of the restaurant's daily operations s they would teach the value of perseverance and hard work. With the help of the children it was not ll too difficult for the family to make even bigger with the introduction of new entries in menu.

23 years later, ApolloRestaurant moved to a better location at Hilado Street just a few blocks away from Bacolod's Chinatown, the Shopping Area. The new home is a Three-storey building which features more function rooms, conference halls and ballrooms for exclusive and big gatherings.

Its delectable Chinese cuisine and excellent service made its customers coming back for more, with families making it a habit to dine at Apollo Restaurant even without any occasion.

The couples culinary skills, business acumen, and dreams for Apollo restaurant were passed on.

To date, Apollo Restaurant has earned a prominent place in Bacolod City with the establishment and operation of its two branches at Cuadra Street and 888 China town square along Galo street.

Apollo Hilado Branch is the main branch where they can cater services, available function rooms for meeting, gathering, venue for any kind of event or reception for weddings. The three-storey building is enough to accommodate a huge traffic without sacrificing the convenience that every customer should feel. When they enter at the dining area of Apollo Restaurant.

For take out services, customers can wait their pending orders at the lobby area. The available seats are visible at the lobby entrance. They also have highchairs or babies chairs that you can use during your dining experience.

Here are the listed available dishes, quenchers, appetizers, soups, viands, noodle , and etc. Which is very affordable and perfect place to dine together with your family, group of friends or who ever are your companions.

Apollo Restaurant was published in a Visayan Daily Star Special in December 04,1992.

This framed original newspaper is hanging on the wall inside the service area. I asked one of the young owner to take photo on it for closer and clearer image result.

After decades of existence, Apollo Restaurant continues to provide its customers with unique Apollo-style Chinese Cuisine and excellent service at affordable prices. And like the spaceship Apollo 11 in which it was named after, Apollo restaurant indeed made a culinary mark in Bacolod City and continue to conquer the discriminating tastes of Bacolenos and Negrenses.
