Finals finally

The men's basketball team of the University of the Philippines has finally reached the finals after 32 years!

Yes, that's right. That's 32 long years!

Though I'm a basketball fan, I actually don't watch UAAP men's basketball. It's because it hurts to see my team fail again and again every single year.

It was painful to see a winless record every year!

Significant changes

The UP basketball program made some significant changes the past few years.

Two top college prospects Kobe Paras and Ricci Rivero pledged to play for the team. But they are still serving a one-year residency. So they will start playing for the team next season.

Still, it's a very promising development for the team.

This season's squad is a very promising team, too. But I wasn't really expecting much from them. I was more excited for next season.

But the guys proved me wrong.

This team is for real! After almost not making it to the final four and being under a twice-to-beat disadvantage, the guys beat all the odds and successfully made it to the next level!

I couldn't be prouder of this team. I have never felt this proud about my school for years!

Go UP

UP will face Ateneo in the finals. That should be one heck of a series!

My squad will enter the finals as the underdog. But I'm rooting for my school all the way! Hope they bring home the trophy!
