Emergency lights such as this led bulb, lit up his face. We were left with no choice but to slack off (or space out 😂) during this kind of circumstances. Sometimes, I wouldn't whine when there are scheduled or unscheduled power interruptions. I wanna instill in my mind this is just another Earth day in our calendar and just another day to give our planet a favor. Right,am I?

In places like here in Ilocos Sur, power interruptions are common, more especially that rainy season has started. It is highly likely that electrical companies take advantage of the weather to switch off power as we are all aware we need "energy conservation". It still boils down to the fact that our country, the Philippines, still has the issue on lacking energy resources. Coal remains to be the main energy source here, although some places are primarily fueled by renewable energy such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal and other more.

Some of the best moments I can remember in my life happens in this kind of days. We take advantage of the serenity brought about by the absence of power to have a quality time together with our family. We chitchat about childhood stories as we flip on some old photograph albums. We play games of whatever is there available, and we played with the candles. Sometimes, when it is too hot in the night and the power's out, we ought to stay on our roof deck, and the night is filled with laughters and music from guitar and our jamming voices until we unconsciously drift off to sleep. For me when this happens and there are the endless noises of thunders and rain against our roof, I want to take it as a chance to relax peacefully, getting a sound sleep after our busy schedules from school or work. The only thing I hate, though, during these times is when there's another kind of noise rocking the tranquility. I'm talking about the generator turned on. There used to be a bank leasing a space below our house. There would be too much discordance coming from two generators owned by two banks. Now there's only one left, as the other has transferred location. This is another perk of living in the Poblacion.
