Ulog #83 Hospital visit Rice Delivery

Early morning ride in the pouring down rain.

Sometimes to get the right photo have to do some things over and above. I saw some great cloud formations and left my house even with the pouring down rain.

I had this one Pastor on my mind. I bought a sack of of rice and went with my visitor from America to his house. This is one of the poorest neighborhoods that I have ever gone to. The houses are all squatters houses and they are build on stilts as the area floods every day during high tide. There is a bamboo walkway that you have to use to keep from having to wade or walk in the black mud. His young son was home, plus all of these beautiful kids but his wife was in the hospital and just had a baby.

We went to the hospital to visit the Pastor and his wife. The hospital she was in was the state run hospital and it is very crowded and there is an oversflow of patients in the hallways everywhere and on every floor. When we finally found the pastor’s wife and saw the baby, they were in a room with 25 or more beds all with patients. After we chatted with the mom, we said we were going to pray. I announced to the entire room that I was going to include all of them in my prayer. Some of the family members and even some of the patients stood up, the hallway filled with people and even some from the adjoining room filed in.

We went home and later I went for a ride in the mountains. As I was about to make a very sharp turn a Philippine eagle floated up right in front of me, no more than 25 feet away. Facing directly towards me. Such a beautiful bird. Very similar to the American Bald Eagle but smaller. Plus the feathers are reddish in color.

By the time I got stopped, pulled out my iPad to take a picture the eagle had floated high above me. I took this photograph.

One day I hope to get a better shot. One of my reasons for going in this area, is the eagle.
