Day 17 05/05

I read through a lot of #ulog posts yesterday and I was wowed. Hearty cheers to @surpassingoogle for the best of the best ideas to come at this time. Having people read a particular hashtag and share their memories, their experience and stories brings joy.

Hello Steemians. I started a series about 16 days ago and I'm glad to bring you today's. I got to Sagamu, Ogun state camp in Nigeria for my National Youth Service Corp (NYSC). It's a compulsory exercise for every graduate intending to stay back in the country to work.

Saturday the 17th day was a semi good day for every Corper. We had prayers, devotion and shortly after, sanitation for the whole platoon came. My platoon had the mandate of cleaning the parade ground. We gladly did! Afterwards, we had breakfast of bread, egg and tea. Carnival soon came and all of the platoons were ushered in. The Eze idi Igbo of Sagamu was in attendance and he also had his fair share of the carnival's dance. It was colorful as all and sundry painted and designed their white shirts in whatever color they wanted. The carnival came to an end with a traditional dance and we headed to our rooms.

The state coordinator promised us a cow meat and we got it for dinner. Each platoons got their ingredients and cooked for their members. Only my platoon cooked correctly, there were no complains whatsoever.

The light out soon came and off we were. We wanted to avoid the repeat of the night before. Soldiers came into rooms and clutched phones. Guys didn't want a repeat, so we slept.
