I have felt the same way for years as the “spend to save” mentality is not my cup of tea. It also undercuts the true meaning of the holiday which is family and friends spending time together. Whereas we should be focused on given more than just gifts to each, the thought is now receiving and how to spend to impress. Sad honestly and having a child makes it even tougher!
