SUMMARY OF MY DAY (14-05-2018)- ULOG #2

Today is Monday and as such is the first day of the working week. I woke up with a good feeling and I knew my day was going to go well. I did my morning prayers and sat down to type a birthday message to my friend who happens to be celebrating today.

I’ve known Tobi (Pastor T) for about seven years now and I don’t regret it one bit. We have grown to become as close as brothers are. We were in the same department in school, the same level, attended the same church and had many more things in common. He has always been a source of encouragement and inspiration. He is kind, gentle and full of wise counsels. I really wish him the best. It is very painful that we are far from each other now (he’s serving in Oyo state and me, Ondo state), I would have taken him out to spoil him a little. He deserves it.

Anyways, I typed and sent the message. He received it and sent a message back. As I wanted to open the message, my phone began displaying funny messages; unfortunately, google play service has stopped, unfortunately contacts has stopped, unfortunately swiftkey has stopped working and some others I can’t remember. It usually displays these error messages but not all at once. I did what I would normally do which is to reboot the phone. My dear reader, that was the end of my phone. It got stuck at the boot logo and wouldn't go further. I knew that was goodbye to all my important documents, contacts and messages. The worst is that I hadn’t backed them to the memory card. I went online to seek any possible solution other than factory reset but there was no positive result. I had to do a hard reset and accepetd my fate. Till now, I still don’t know how I am going to get those contacts back. I really felt bad about it and it reflected on my activities.

Today was market day in Fagbo. It occurs once in every eight days. So, you can see the importance of today. Once missed, one would have to wait eight days for the next. I went with my fellow corpers to get stuffs that would carry us through another week. They include provisions (milk, chocolate, sugar), foodstuff (rice, beans, tomatoes, pepper). We even bought groundnut for doing soakis (if you know, you know). I met a lady friend in the markt and she helped me do the pricing of most things. I was grateful because most of these market women used to take advantage of the fact that we are corpers and inflate the price.

I could only teach Senior Secondary School one today. I wasn’t in the mood to talk much. I really do hope I can get myself back. I’ve been away for some days due to power situation here and unstable network (network goes off anytime rain falls. It's that bad here).
The rains came again today as they've been doing most of last week. It's both good and bad news. It is good because the night would be colder as against when the sun is out where one can hardly sleep because of heat. It is bad because mosquitoes and snakes come out after the rains. This is a rural area as you know and so most of the place is forested. It is not uncommon to see snakes these days.

I also want to get back to writing my story. I lost all the previous parts due to the data wipe. Luckily for me, I have them here on Steemit.
