ULOG: #3 Week 17 - Advantage For Me For Attending The Prayer Vigil Nightly

I try to attend the nightly prayer vigil for my relative across the street. I usually try to but for my relatives who had their wake in the city, I am only able to attend once. It is expensive for me and very tiring because of the travel.

Since he lives close I can go every night. There are advantages of going every night. Besides the fact that we can pray for his soul and ours, I get a much needed exercise. The first 2 days I had some difficulty. I was not used to too much walking.

Here is what I experience every evening around 6pm, I walked 4 steps down from my room, walk approx 18-24 feet or 4-5 meters to the outside gate on the balcony. Then 10 steps going down, another 5-6 meters to the main gate. Then 4-5 meters across the street. Another 5 steps going down and 2-3 meters to the house. For me that is good walking.

Then after praying we are given snacks, that is ok because when I get home I don't eat dinner anymore, just drink my maintenance medicines. And while eating we get to talk and update each other. Most of those who attend the prayers live just along the street.

Then around 8-8:30 Most of us go home, some stay to play mahjong or card games.

So then again I have the same exercise, this time going upstairs. Now it is a little easier for me after doing it for 3 days in a row. Another tonight. I might be able to do it only til Thursday night because Friday we will be busy preparing for our Fiesta on Sat, the 22nd. He will still be at his house during the fiesta because his burial will be on the 24th. It will also give a chance for relatives from the city to pay a visit or vigil too.

I do have a class birthday party on the 23rd but I don't think I can attend. I will be so tired and it is the last day before his burial. I think my classmates will understand.

I need to get ready because my cousin the priest will be coming to say mass after his assigned schedule to say mass at the church. So we will have a mass at his house around 6-6:30 pm instead of the prayer vigil.

I hope next month will be easier for me. Just prepare for another family affair, no more deaths and sickness...please.
