Today, 13th May, 2019 at about 18:30 hours (GMT+1), there appeared a beautiful bow of colours in the sky- RAINBOW. Rainbow in itself communicates hope as it stands out from a dull cloudy sky. The beautiful scene which ;lasted not more than 30 minutes attracted many onlookers who crowded in their corners to capture the beautiful scenery.

Beyond the aesthetic view, rainbow to Christians represent a mark of God's covenant with man when He covenanted never again to destroy the earth and mankind with flood. As recorded in Genesis 9: 13-16, God was provoked by the sweet smelling sacrifice offered by Noah after 40 days of day and night downpour which re-formated the earth,.

I have set My rainbow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. Whenever I form clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember My covenant between Me and you and all living creatures: Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. And whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of every kind that is on the earth.” - Genesis 9: 13-16, Berean Study Bible

Here in Uyo, Southern Nigeria, we witnessed a heavy downpour yesterday from 16:30 to 20:00 hours (GMT+1). The rain was so heavy that nearly al the streets were flooded. In fact there are sad filters from some quarters that some lives were lost in addition to household items that were destroyed by the flood.

Since then, we've experienced a dull weather from today's morning till this evening when the beautiful rainbow was spotted. Alongside other viewers, I feel joyed having a glimpse of that sight.

My hope towards the promises of God was heightened at the sight of the rainbow. Our God, is too faithful to renege His promises. Every bit of His word is bound to come to fulfilment.

My Encouragement for you

With the sight of the rainbow, I was well remembered of God's scriptural promise that He would not destroy the earth anymore with flood. Surely, He won't. God'e eternal plan for man is that all may come to the light of the truth and be saved, the reason His gave Jesus Christ as a ransome for the sins of man.

Friend, Do not be discouraged about life. God is thinking of you and He has great plans for you. Though the storm may last for the night, there will be joy in the morning.
