#ulog 17: Day Trip to Bohol -- the Island of Chocolate Kisses - Part 2

in #ulog6 years ago

...in continuation of my previous #ulog.

From the Tarsier Conservation Area, our driver-slash-tourguide entertained us with stories about how the chocolate hills came about which will be our next stop.

One that left a mark on me was that story of kindness and humility.

The pearls received from
the fairy were scattered into the fields as a symbol of
kindness and humility. They became hard chocolate drops
and grew into chocolate hills.

Chocolate Hills

Formed centuries ago, these cone-shaped hills numbering up to more than a thousand, is a sight to behold. But it takes up to more than a hundred steps to be able to reach the viewdeck. Yup, you read that right, more than a hundred steps to reach the top.

That is us half-way. Glad you can't hear me panting, nor my heart beating fast. Still smiling for the camera inspite the unforeseen workout. Lol.

Little tip: put on sunscreen and bring sun protectors and water. Now I know that getting to the top is never easy. Take that literally.

The hills are colored brown during summer, thus the name chocolate, and would turn lush green on rainy season. Fascinating, isn't it?

Now, that unintended workout made me all hungry. The timing was so right since our next stop is the Loboc River Cruise. We will be eating lunch while on a floating resto, moving. Cruisin' baby.

Loboc River Cruise

It is a one-hour cruise with a great view of the Loboc river. Coconuts lining up the river banks, residents playing around and waving upon seeing us. They're just so welcoming.

We got to eat buffet lunch while being entertained by a live band. Isn't it sweet?

After all the eating, we get to enjoy the cool breeze and the laidback surroundings.

The highlight of this cruise was through the end. We get to stop by a cultural show and visitors willget to have a taste of Philippine culture. I even danced tinkling!

Before going to our next stop, there are interesting shops to get your souvenirs.

And do not fail to have a photo op with this tarsier mascot. He is funny.

And create a #ulog today.

Brother Terry a.k.a. @surpassinggoogle is behind this great initiative. He has been a supportive and kind person too. So without second thoughts, I give my SUPPORT to him as a WITNESS by voting him at https://steemit.com/~witnesses.

You can do the same by voting for him. You simply type in "steemgigs" at the first search box. Or you can give him witness voting decisions on your behalf, by typing in "surpassinggoogle" in the second box as a proxy, just like what I did.

I also support his projects @teardrops SMT and @steemgigs.

Thanks sir Terry for being a fan! Btw, i am already a subscriber of your channel.

Tarsiers are one of the most vulnerable animals I have seen in my entire life. I am so happy that I saw a couple of them 7 years ago. I wanna visit again.

With a height of 4-5 inches only, they sure are vulnerable. Well, you should travel back there. There are a lot of changes. Tourism have remarkably improved .

I was told that. A lot has changed. I hope I can go back soooooon.
