I find what’s going on with the #metoo movement to be absolutely disturbing. It’s pretty well turned into guilty until proven innocent over the past year. How about how feminist ideals have begun to take over the justice system?
I don’t like where this is headed, especially considering I have a young son.
I don't find the #metoo movement disturbing as it is a platform to help people find the courage to speak up and be a witness to the sexual abuse, rape and molestation that has remained hidden for far too long. However, individuals love to hijack popular movements like this to push their own agenda as their agenda is not popular at all. It could be specific individuals who use the movement to tarnish the reputation of others through lies or omissions or others who use it to manipulate the judicial system. This is a perfect example of how making generalized statements about groups rather than addressing the violent actions of individuals is so challenging and dangerous. I prefer to stand as a witness to specific violent & abusive behaviours than to just coat a whole movement with a single brush.
