Steem Basic Income

Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.

Consistent Growth

We have ten voting accounts, so your upvotes could come from @steembasicincome, @sbi2, @sbi3, @sbi4, @sbi5, @sbi6, @sbi7, @sbi8, @sbi9 or @sbi10. The new system dynamically selects the best account to deliver your upvote at the time of upvote delivery.

We currently have 6138 members that have posted or commented within the last 28 days, and many more members that have not. There are currently 123605 units in the program, and it grows every day.

Upvotes by Voting Account

As each upvote is delivered by our newly automated system, it selects the highest VP account that can deliver the full scheduled upvote value. We are working toward creating a smooth VP curve between accounts that will eventually result in most accounts always getting their upvotes from the same 2 or 3 accounts.

This shows the total number of upvotes (without respect to size) delivered in the last week. The biggest boxes belong to members that have a high enough SBI subscription level to get regular upvotes that exceed the minimum threshold.

@steembasicincome accounts voted

A more common way to look at voting distribution is by vote weight. This is more meaningful when broken up by account. We have been prototyping a report by voting account (each has published its own). This prototype has been published by each SBI account except for @sbi10 and @sbi-booster, which we did not get to yet. We have been limiting the voting record updates to two accounts per day to minimize the VP draw for members that choose to upvote those along with the regular updates published on this account.

Here is what it looks like for @steembasicincome. Each member is assigned a random color, but there is no meaning to each color. This represents over 2200 upvotes just from @steembasicincome!

Enrollment

If you want to get involved in Steem Basic Income, or to increase the level of basic income that you receive, enrollment is pretty straightforward:

Just send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of a Steemian to sponsor in the transaction memo (preceded by @). You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 share in the program. You can sponsor any active Steemian (excluding yourself), it does not have to be a current member.

The official currency for enrollment is STEEM. We accept SBD at our discretion but you do not receive extra value or any partial refund for paying in SBD instead of STEEM. If we choose to accept an SBD enrollment, we accept the entire amount. If we choose to reject it, we refund the entire amount and request you to send STEEM instead.

Enrollments are processed automatically every 144 minutes. Confirmation transactions are manual and typically are sent within 2-3 days. Even if you have not received a welcome transaction, you can check your status using !sbi status.

SBI Writer's Group Needs Your Help

A few more spots are available for interested writers to join the SBI writer's group.
You do not already have to be a member of Steem Basic Income to take up this opportunity, but a basic working knowledge of SBI would help.
