Images and Inspiration for Barbara Anne Part 1

Images to Inspire the Creative Process

Film making is a lot of "hurry up and wait". On set and in the creative process. With the core team in place, final touches of the script being completed and now the launch of our first fundraising efforts here on @fundition  we are moving into deeper imagining of the world we want to create. When brainstorming with such busy women we make Pinterest boards, text, email and communicate whenever something pops into mind or we find an amazing image that inspires us. This is really important especially for the Director who will be working with lights and set dressers on the day but also when they are in the editing room and colouring the film in post production. There are lots of things to research and dream on so I'll be revealing a few at a time so you the backers have time to really take it in.

Publicity and Fundraising

Kat Webber (our Director) is also an incredible photographer and will taking some shots of me as Barbara-Anne for publicity some of which will be EXCLUSIVELY for @Fundition! When looking at these images know that they we are looking at style, fonts, colour, poses, wardrobe etc. What we create together will be our own but part of our research is understanding the time period that this character thinks she lives in, and how she imagines herself.  I recently found these book covers and love the style of them and I felt like these types of books are why Barbara-Anne became a murderess (I also imagine that this is what Barbara-Anne read and then thought...hmm I wanna be a murderess too!)

Location

One thing that will be the most complex of our shoot will be decorating the set to look like the 1950's. It's unrealistic that we will find a space that is perfectly 1950's but we are sharing images and getting an idea of what we want the set to look like so we can begin location scouting.  We don't have a big budget for the actual location  so we are hoping to find someone who has a kitchen/living room are that could be made to look like something inspired by these images.

Props and Details

It's important for the creative team to share images early on so that over the next few months as we raise money and search for our location we can also keep our eyes open for antiques that would suite the set. It's all in the details. From the type of phone that's in the background, to the type of glassware Barbara-Anne pours whiskey into. Finding these pieces actually takes more money than time so our team is already on the look out for 1950's gems!

Thank you everyone for your initial excitement and support.  Stay tuned for interviews, more inspiration and updates on getting this film made!!!
