Must read introduction to STEEM POWER AND POWER UP from a new steemian to other newbies

Ive had so many questions after only being in steemit for a week now.
Lucky for me Discord has been a great healp with all the people active and very willing to help.

OK> When you have a new account you will notice that in your wallet, there is something called steem power.
Steem power is the voting power you have when upvoting posts. if you are as new as i am you will see that your steem power is .0500SP

The idea of steemit is to power up your steem power by "investing it" back into steemit and having a greater control over the reward when you upvote posts.

Earning Steem Power:

When posting a post in your blog, at the bottom right there is a drop down arrow with reward options. They work as follows:
50/50 = 50% of your earnings go into your steem wallet as transferable tokens. the OTHER 50% goes right into steem power to help you grow your account.
"A successful steemit account is measured in SP"
option 2 is 100% reward : 100% of the steem you earn goes into your wallet, wich is fine but your account ans steem power will nor grow .Meaning you will have limited visibility and voting power to make a change in someones life that really needs it.

When you finally reach the 500SP mark you get a slider with a choice of voting power to use when upvoting .. your choices are between 1% and 100% making it possible to spread out your voting power helping more people..

There is also a votes per day allowance, luckily it works on a sliding scale.
Steemit does not know how many times you will vote per day, so every vote per day you make extra you build up your vote per day quota.
24h without voting will reset your allowance back to 20 votes per day which is the default .

You also have limited voting power. Voting power replenishes 20% a day it is a good idea to keep an eye on your remaining voting power. I'll place links at the bottom to easily check your voting power and all other stats on your account.

There is a 30 min time period after a post has been posted where the author gets more rewards on the post.

It works like this :

If a post is upvoted immediately to 3 min after posting 100% curation award goes to the author.
if a post is upvoted between 3 and 15 min 90% of the curation reward goes to the author.
if a post is upvoted between 15 and 27 min it is a 50 - 50 split between curator and author
if a post is upvoted between 27 and 30 min 10% of the curation reward goes to the author and the rest to the curator.

The amount of benefit that author receives from your upvote also depends on how many votes the post already has.
