Project Details :

  • Verdaccio means a green color popular in late medieval Italy for fresco painting!
  • Verdaccio is lightweight private npm proxy registry built in Node.js
  • A registry is a repository for packages that implements the CommonJS Compliant Package Registry specification for reading package info. It provides an API compatible with npm clients (yarn/npm/pnpm), and follows the semantic Versioning compatible (semver).
  • Verdaccio helps you keep your privacy, so all packages that you publish are private and only accessible based in your configuration. It also caches all dependencies by demand and speeds up installations in local or private networks.

Translation Overview

  • This is my eighth contribution on Verdaccio open source project.

  • Such as previous contributions on Verdaccio project, the difficulty of the translated text was medium.

  • This is my last contribution to Verdaccio project. I succeeded to translate the whole project to French. I can say it was a very good experience to me in term of language, I have learnt new style of writing. Now I feel able to translate such projects easely.

I found some difficulties to translate some expressions :

  • expression : "Using Verdaccio" could be translated as "A l'aide de Verdaccio". But after some research, I finally suggested “Utilisation de Verdaccio”.
    Same here and here

Language

  • The translation was from English to French
  • In general, their was not a big difference compared to previous translated parts.
  • Some sentences were a bit long, with no punctuation, what makes the translation a bit complicated.

  • Total word translated: 1009
  • Untranslated words: 176
  • Final count: 833

    • This is your final contribution to Verdaccio.
    • I feel like I'm an expert after working with you on this project, although some sentences and texts are still ambiguous for me because of the technical aspects of such projects, but I'm sure that the French community will benefit from the existence of those libraries en français 😊.
    • My tasks, on the other hand, is not completely concluded because of some of the early-translated strings submitted by other crowdin members and that needs to be reconsidered so we can push the project to 100% translated and 100% proofread.
    • This part for me was of average difficulty and you have highlighted this matter, but as always you never cease to amaze me with your highly dedicated work and as always I'll link on Discord some further improvements to be added to your future contributions.
    • The project "Verdaccio" is now completed.
